This directive seeks to end the problem of 'research results gathering dust' and to promote the application of science and technology to real-world production.
The trading platform will connect researchers with businesses, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Linking research with practice
At the conference in Hanoi on September 8-9 to implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo and Resolution 71 of the government on promoting science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the construction and transportation sectors, Minister Minh assigned relevant units to study the establishment of the Ministry of Construction Innovation Hub.
The hub will collect scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation outcomes from both domestic and international sources.
Its core mission is to link research results with enterprises in the sector for practical application.
The minister also directed the establishment of a technology trading platform dedicated to the exchange of scientific research results in the construction and transportation fields.
The goal is to improve the quality of research outcomes and ensure they are effectively applied in practice.
Initial results
According to the Ministry of Construction, implementation of the two resolutions has already brought encouraging early results in digital transformation, scientific research, and innovation.
Units under the ministry are rolling out technology projects such as a real estate trading platform, a vessel identification system, and electronic toll collection at parking lots.
The ministry is also developing a proposal for a National Smart Transportation Management Center, focusing on road networks.
In transportation technology, research teams are working to integrate and connect the national highway management system with the Urban Traffic Management Centers of centrally administered cities.
In addition, enterprises and units in the sector have implemented numerous projects applying science, technology, and digital innovation to high-rise construction, long-span bridges, expressways, and the development of new building materials.
