Jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the U.S. Mission to Vietnam, and the Da Nang administration, the festival marked the beginning of a series of events celebrating 30 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the U.S. (1995-2025).
Attracting approximately 3,000 participants, including citizens, tourists, and officials from both nations, the event showcased a vibrant program of cultural and artistic performances, sports activities, Vietnamese and American folk games, food stalls, and an exhibition.
The festival sought to celebrate cultural diversity and the friendship between the Vietnamese and American people.
It also aimed to educate younger generations about the Vietnam–U.S. relationship, promote mutual understanding, and expand future opportunities for people-to-people exchange.
U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper noted that the festival underscored the importance of people-to-people engagement as the foundation of the relationship.

He reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to supporting a strong, prosperous, and resilient Vietnam while respecting Vietnam’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.
The ambassador also expressed gratitude to VUFO and the Da Nang administration for their cooperation in launching the festival.
Ho Ky Minh, permanent deputy chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said that relations between Da Nang and U.S. partners and localities have flourished in recent years through friendship visits and frequent delegation exchanges.
The U.S. is currently one of the leading foreign investors in Da Nang, ranking third with 89 projects totaling over US$511 million, he added.
