Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration announced the recall on Wednesday, noting that the fragments are not inside the tablets, but their potential presence in the bottles poses a risk of injury to consumers.
The recalled products are listed below:
| Product | Batch numbers | Expiry Dates |
|---|---|---|
| Nature’s Own Glucosamine Sulfate with Chondroitin (320 tablets) | 1662937 | April 2028 |
| Nature’s Own Magnesium Glycinate 1150mg (300 tablets) | 1665576 | April 2028 |
Both products are distributed by Sanofi-Aventis Healthcare Pty Ltd T/A Sanofi Consumer Healthcare and have been widely sold in Australia since May 7, 2026.
Following the alert, the Vietnam Food Safety Authority reviewed its product registration database and found that it has not issued product declaration certificates for either of the recalled health supplements.
To ensure consumer safety, the authority has instructed health departments and local food safety agencies nationwide to review whether the products have been registered or self-declared for sale in Vietnam.
Authorities were also asked to work with any businesses involved in distributing the products, notify retailers and consumers to stop using them, and organize recalls in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Companies found to have imported or distributed the affected supplements must report the quantities imported, sold and remaining in inventory, while proposing measures for handling recalled batches.
In related news, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) earlier this week announced a separate recall involving Allen's iNSiDE OUTS 130g candy owing to the presence of plastic fragments.
The recalled candy carries a best-before date of June 30, 2027, affecting batches 6072T941, 6073T941, 6074T941, 6075T941, 6085T941, 6086T941, and 6088T941.
FSANZ warned that consuming products containing plastic could cause injury.
Consumers are advised not to consume the affected products.
Consumers should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund and seek medical attention if they experience any health concerns.
Since candy products fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Food Safety Authority has requested the ministry’s Industry Agency to review the matter and take action in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
