Vietnam has rung in the New Year with joy and fireworks, leaving behind the year 2015 and embracing new opportunities in 2016.

Residents of the Southeast Asian country had a night to remember as they cheered amid the electrifying atmosphere and sparkling pyrotechnic displays on December 31 in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the two biggest cities.

Many Vietnamese expressed their happiness living in a peaceful country to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a safe manner against the backdrop of war and terror in many other parts of the world.
