Trang advanced to the final after placing third in qualification with 584 points.
Teammates Trinh Thu Vinh and Nguyen Thuy Dung did not qualify.
In the final, Trang eliminated rivals steadily and was locked in a close contest with India’s Manu Bhaker, the Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallist.
The two shooters were tied on 35 points after 10 shots, before Trang won the decisive shoot-off to secure the gold medal.
The title marked Vietnam’s first gold medal after about a week of competition at the championships.
Vietnam also won a bronze medal on Monday in the women’s 25-meter sport pistol team event.
Earlier in the championships, Vietnam claimed two silver medals in the women’s 10-meter air pistol team event and the men’s 25-meter standard pistol team event, as well as a bronze in the men’s 50-meter pistol team competition.
For Trang, the victory was her first individual Asian-level gold medal.
She previously won silver in the same event at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
