Vietnamese circus couple win silver at international festival in Belarus

The festival was held in Minsk from September 17 to 20, bringing together circus performers from several countries.

Phuoc and Hoa, a husband-and-wife duo, competed with A Moment of Love, a double aerial straps performance they have spent more than a decade developing.

The act has previously earned the pair several gold and silver prizes at international circus festivals.

Known for its technically demanding moves, A Moment of Love has also drawn praise for its choreography, music, costumes, and overall stage presentation.

The performance has featured in many productions in Vietnam, including the large-scale circus and puppet show Mo Show at the Phu Tho Circus in Ho Chi Minh City.

This international competition was particularly meaningful for the couple, as they had been away from international circus festivals for around two years after Thanh Hoa gave birth.

What made her return even more remarkable was that their baby was only about 10 months old when Thanh Hoa resumed performing and returned to the international competition stage.

According to People’s Artist Bich Lien, the couple’s teacher, making such an early comeback required tremendous determination and resilience from Hoa.

After childbirth, a performer’s body is physically weaker, while a long break from training can cause the body to become stiff and lose flexibility.

Despite those challenges, Hoa kept pushing herself, and her latest achievement is a well-deserved reward for an artist who is passionate about her profession, hardworking, dedicated, and exceptionally strong-willed.
