The festival awarded a total of US$58,000 in prizes, recognizing international cinema, stories from Pacific islands, and local Hawaiian talent.
"Ky Nam Inn," starring Lien Binh Phat and Do Thi Hai Yen, was the only winner from Vietnam this year.
The film recently released its teaser trailer and announced its Vietnam premiere on November 28.
The drama-romance film follows Khang (Lien Binh Phat), a young translator, and Ky Nam (Do Thi Hai Yen), a widowed woman, as they navigate quiet emotions.
Co-written by Leon Le and Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, the film sets in an old apartment complex and takes audiences back to Ho Chi Minh City in the 1980s, evoking nostalgia through 35mm cinematography.

Khang arrives in the city for a new translation job and meets Ky Nam, who runs a small eatery serving residents in the complex.
What starts as a cautious friendship slowly deepens into a bond that rises above age, pain, and circumstance, as secrets are revealed and new characters emerge in a time of change.
