At an apartment complex on Pham Van Dong Boulevard in Thu Duc City, hundreds of flags have been hung neatly across all four sides of the building, turning the facade into a striking sea of red visible from afar.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, 36, a resident of the building, said the flag display has become a cherished tradition each April.
“Back when I lived in a ground-floor house, we always raised the flag for Reunification Day. I’ve kept that habit even after moving to an apartment," she said.
“Seeing the entire block adorned with the national flag is incredibly moving."
Lan also mentioned that visitors to the apartment complex have been consistently praising the flag display's beauty, with some even photographing the balconies to share on social media, spreading the spirit leading up to the national holiday.

At older residential complexes like Huynh Van Chinh in Tan Phu District, the addition of national flags lends an even more nostalgic and solemn tone.
Residents there, too, are maintaining tradition.
“Every household gets a flag from the management to hang during public holidays like Reunification Day and National Day [September 2],” said store owner Thuy Nga, 33.
“It adds charm to the building and even attracts more customers.”

Major hotels and office towers in the city center have joined in, decorating balconies with red flags to mark the historic milestone of national reunification.
In this way, the celebratory atmosphere of Reunification Day has permeated every floor and every window of buildings and streets across the city.
