Authorities in Hung Son Commune, Da Nang City, reported on Monday that local police and military forces had collaborated to assist a Lao patient returning home after medical treatment.
They carried her through challenging terrain using a hammock.
The patient, identified as Poloong Thi Deeng, resides in Abul Village, Kaleum District, Sekong Province, Laos.
She had traveled to Vietnam for treatment at the Quang Nam Northern Mountainous Region General Hospital, located in Dai Loc Commune, Da Nang City.
After her recovery, Deeng expressed her wish to return home.
However, adverse weather conditions caused by storm Bualoi led to heavy rain in the mountainous area, making travel extremely difficult. Her family requested assistance from Hung Son Commune authorities.

Officers took turns carrying Deeng in a hammock through nearly five kilometers of rugged forest from Atu 2 Hamlet, Hung Son Commune, to her home.
The timely support from the Vietnamese forces ensured the patient’s safety and demonstrated a strong sense of duty, while further strengthening the bond and solidarity between the neighboring communities of Vietnam and Laos.
