Vietnamese leaders congratulate US on 250th Independence Day anniversary

Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam sent a congratulatory letter and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung wired a congratulatory message on Saturday to U.S. President Donald Trump on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day (July 4, 1776 – July 4, 2026), according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also sent congratulatory messages to President of the U.S. Senate James David Vance and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson.

In their congratulatory messages, Vietnam’s senior leaders congratulated the U.S. on the remarkable achievements that have made it one of the world's leading powers.

They reaffirmed that Vietnam regards the U.S. as one of its strategically important partners and expressed their hope that the two countries will continue to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Vietnamese leaders also voiced their desire to unlock new opportunities for breakthrough cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economics, politics, science, and technology.

On the same day, Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung sent a congratulatory message to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
