Vietnamese man, grandkid narrowly escape death in gas stove explosion

A Vietnamese luckily escaped from the Death’s scythe when cooking at home, as he left the kitchen to play with his grandchild on Tuesday.

In the evening, Ha Ngoc Em, 58, a resident in Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City, could have put himself at fatal risk if he had continued cooking as the gas stove, which had been installed on Monday, suddenly exploded.

Em made a narrow escape since he moved from the stove to play with his granddaughter, while waiting for the soup to boil.

There were no casualties. After the incident, he reported the case to local police.

According to initial police records, Em was cooking a pot of soup in his house then.

While waiting for the soup to boil, he went on to play with his three-year-old granddaughter, who was a couple of meters away from the stove.

A sudden flare ignited, followed by a loud boom from the kitchen, causing parts of the ceiling in the house to collapse.

Neighbors managed to help him lock the gas tank’s cap.

Although no one got killed, Em with his family members and neighbors were totally freaked out by the incident. Em’s granddaughter screamed in dread.
