She is currently in Russia at the invitation of the Russian government and the administration of Saint Petersburg to participate in cultural diplomacy activities marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia.

She arrived in Moscow on Tuesday.

During her visit to the Vietnamese language classes located within INCENTRA, she expressed her delight at seeing Vietnamese children in a foreign land.

She shared her emotional response to the strong sense of connection the overseas Vietnamese community continues to maintain with their homeland, generation after generation.

She frequently and kindly asked the children whether they could understand the messages shared by members of the visiting delegation.

When they all responded in unison with a confident ‘Yes,’ she smiled and affirmed that this was the success of the ‘Joy of Vietnamese’ program for Vietnamese children living in Russia.

“This is the result of dedicated work by the center and the tireless efforts of the teachers,” she said.

“Though these children were not born in Vietnam, they know and understand the Vietnamese language, culture, and history.”

She emphasized that language is more than just a tool for communication—it is a cultural bridge, a sacred link between individuals and their national roots.

She affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and state always view the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part oò Vietnam.

For children born and raised abroad, Vietnamese is a key to opening the door to the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam, she said.

“If you are Vietnamese, and you can speak and understand the Vietnamese language, you will understand the roots of your people, your history, and your ancestors," she told the students.

“This understanding will lead to pride in your culture and your origins.

"Study hard and learn the language well, so that no matter where you are, Vietnam remains in your heart."

They said her visit left a lasting impression on the children, who warmly referred to her as ‘teacher Ngo Phuong Ly.’
