The individuals, namely Li Zhisen, Wang Shuncheng, Wang Shi Xin, and Wang Yi Xin, were deported on Tuesday through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Lang Son Province, which borders China’s Guangxi Province to the east.
Authorities said they had crossed into Vietnam without completing required immigration procedures and remained in the country without valid residency documents.
The violations fall under Clause 9, Article 21 of Vietnam’s Government Decree 282/2025, which stipulates administrative penalties for violations involving security, public order, social safety, social evils, and domestic violence prevention.
Following verification, Phu Tho police coordinated with Lang Son police, and border guards at Huu Nghi International Border Gate to complete necessary procedures and carry out the deportation.
Officials said the province will continue strengthening oversight of foreign nationals’ entry, exit, and residency.
Measures include proactive inspections, timely detection of violations, and strict enforcement.
Authorities also plan to expand public awareness campaigns, urging organizations, individuals, and lodging facilities to comply with immigration laws.
In related news, another four Chinese citizens were deported from Vietnam after authorities in the central city of Da Nang discovered they were working illegally while on tourist visas, the municipal police department announced on its official website on September 10.
The individuals, identified as Ye Yiyuan, Zeng Hongshun, Li Xianglin, and Wang Peng, entered Vietnam using electronic tourist visas.
Instead of traveling, they worked as online customer service staff for a Thai gaming application offering rewards.
Police of Thanh Khe Ward first detected the violations during routine checks on July 21.
The case was transferred to the city’s Immigration Office, which confirmed the group had engaged in activities inconsistent with their visa purpose.
Each person was fined VND22.5 million (US$870) under Clause 7, Article 21 of Government Decree 282/2025.
On August 27, Da Nang immigration officials coordinated with airport border police to complete deportation procedures.
Authorities said the expulsion was carried out safely and in accordance with prevailing regulations.
They warned foreign nationals to strictly follow Vietnamese law, respect the purpose of their visa, and only engage in permitted activities during their stay.
Violators, they stressed, will face strict penalties.
