The trip was part of his official visit to Malaysia and attendance at the 46th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.

He wrapped up his Malaysian visit on Wednesday afternoon.

Speaking at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a leading academic institution in Malaysia and Asia, the Vietnamese government leader expressed his belief that by jointly investing in knowledge, the young generations of Vietnam and Malaysia, united by a shared aspiration, can help build a Southeast Asia that serves not only as a manufacturing hub but also as a cradle of ideas.

He emphasized Vietnam’s readiness to enhance collaboration with Malaysia in education and training, as well as in the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

These efforts aim to promote sustainable growth, shared prosperity, and a more vibrant future for both countries and the ASEAN community, he said.

Highlighting the achievements in the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership, PM Chinh noted the huge potential for expanded cooperation in education, scientific research, and technology.

He reaffirmed that Vietnam regards education-training and science-technology as national priorities in the country’s new era of development.

Vietnam is implementing multiple new policies to modernize its education and training systems as investment in education is seen as investment in long-term development, he stated.

He suggested that both sides focus on enhancing the effectiveness of educational cooperation, particularly at the university level, and jointly advance initiatives in scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation.
