Local police announced on Friday that they had launched a criminal investigation and charged Nguyen Van Duy, born in 2000, with infringing industrial property rights.
Duy, a resident of Tan Thanh Commune, has been prohibited from leaving his place of residence without permission and is subject to a temporary exit ban.
The case came to light on October 1, when police in Phu Binh Commune, working with local market surveillance officers, inspected Duy Bom, a clothing store owned by Duy.
Authorities discovered 974 shirts and trousers bearing the Adidas, Louis Vuitton, and Dior trademarks.
Duy was unable to provide invoices or documents proving the origin of the products.
Subsequent examinations confirmed that all 974 items were counterfeit goods bearing the protected trademarks of the three brands.
The seized merchandise was valued at more than VND330 million ($12,500).
Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
