Vietnamese student dies after electric bike crashes into school wall

The incident occurred Friday at Phu Rieng High School in Dong Nai Province as the student, identified as L.T.S., was leaving school. 

According to school representatives, the electric bike suddenly accelerated and struck a concrete wall.

Staff brought the student to a local hospital and later transferred him to a higher-level facility, but he died from his injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. 

School representatives said there were no signs of racing or prior collision and suspect a mechanical issue with the throttle.

The school said it bans high-powered motorbikes and had conducted traffic safety training earlier in the academic year.
