Vietnamese Tiktoker sentenced to life for trafficking narcotics

The People’s Court in Bac Giang Province, northern Vietnam handed down a life sentence to a TikTok influencer for trading narcotics in 2021.

The provincial People’s Court on Tuesday held a trial for Le Thi Bich Ngoc, 23, from northern Hai Duong Province.

Ngoc was convicted of the illegal trading of narcotics.

The indictment showed that police in Bac Giang Province caught Ngoc red-handed trading 1,500 pills of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, with Pham Xuan Bien, 31, from northern Hung Yen Province, in front of a karaoke parlor in the province on July 23, 2021.

Officers also confisticated five mobile phones, one package of heroin, and other evidence at the scene.

Ngoc was wanted by officers in My Hao Town, Hung Yen Province, for illegal drug trafficking before her arrest.

She was a TikTok influencer with over 39,000 subscribers.

Despite the fact that she was wanted, Ngoc continued to publish videos on her own TikTok account showcasing her beauty before being apprehended.
