The film is expected to reach VND700 billion ($26.5 million) in the coming days if the strong turnout persists.

Ealier, 'Mua Do' grossed VND551.3 billion ($20.8 million) after just 17 days, overtaking Tran Thanh's 'Mai' to become Vietnam's all-time box office leader on September 7.

Meanwhile, American website Box Office Mojo places 'Red Rain' at No. 67 among the world's highest-grossing films of 2025.

'Mua Do,' based on an eponymous novel by Chu Lai, a Vietnamese war veteran and writer, portrays a significant chapter in Vietnam’s history.

The movie is set in 1972 and has the 81-day battle of Quang Tri, also known as the second battle of Quang Tri, in the American war in Vietnam as its foundation story.

According to The Box Office Vietnam, the movie generated VND48 billion ($1.8 million) in ticket revenue last weekend, and currently plays in about 3,200 screenings daily, well ahead of other titles.

Since the film's premiere on August 20, the cast has been actively promoting the movie through a series of events such as red carpet launches, press interviews, and fan meet-and-greets.

This ongoing engagement has not only strengthened bonds among the cast members but also brought them closer to audiences.

Many moviegoers say the warmth and ease with which the cast exudes has won them a devoted following, comparable to that of popular singers.

Holding second place at the Vietnamese box office now is 'The Conjuring 4: Last Rites,' which grossed VND23 billion ($872,000) in its first three days since premiering on September 12, with around 2,000 screenings per day.

The horror blockbuster has enjoyed a solid opening in Vietnam compared with other recent international releases.
