The approved projects span urban development, social housing, industrial park infrastructure, and foreign direct investment (FDI), according to provincial authorities.
Urban development, service, and infrastructure projects accounted for the largest share of the investment package, with 14 projects totaling nearly $4.1 billion.
The projects include large urban developments, inland logistics ports, a vaccine manufacturing plant, and private hospitals.
Authorities also approved 14 social housing projects with total investment exceeding VND38.8 trillion ($1.48 billion).
The developments are expected to provide around 27,900 apartments for workers and low-income residents.
In addition, five industrial park infrastructure projects worth about $314 million received investment approvals.
Seven foreign-invested companies were granted investment registration certificates totaling $243 million, while eight existing FDI projects were permitted to increase their capital by approximately $795 million.
The approvals were announced at a ceremony marking the launch of Bac Ninh's urban master plan through 2050, with a vision to 2075, and the province's recognition as a Class I urban area.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh called on the province to accelerate key infrastructure projects, including the planned Gia Binh Airport and railway links connecting Hanoi with Quang Ninh, Dong Dang, and Hai Phong.
He also urged greater investment in transit-oriented development, sustainable urban infrastructure, digital networks, and green energy.
Under the master plan, Bac Ninh aims to become a center for semiconductors, chip manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, while developing a modern logistics and services sector supported by multimodal transport infrastructure and the planned airport.
The province attracted more than $13.8 billion in total investment commitments in the first seven months of 2026, including over $2.7 billion in FDI, ranking fourth nationwide.
Already a major manufacturing base for foreign electronics, technology, and semiconductor companies, Bac Ninh has also drawn significant investment from Vietnamese developers in recent years as large-scale urban, industrial and infrastructure projects reshape the province's economic landscape.
