The Can Tho Hydro-Meteorological Center on Saturday morning predicted continued heavy rain through next Monday, with rainfall ranging from 50–100mm, and up to 120mm in Co Do District.
The rainfall is likely to affect low-lying areas, disrupt traffic, and impact daily life and local production.
The forecast comes after an intense downpour late on Friday afternoon flooded nearly all major roads in the city.
Waterlogging was so severe that some areas resembled rivers and took hours to drain.

In central Ninh Kieu District, key streets including Tran Hoang Na and Cach Mang Thang Tam saw serious traffic congestion. Several intersections, such as Mau Than–Nguyen Van Cu and Nguyen Van Linh, were also gridlocked.

Notably, authorities had just completed a drainage upgrade project in downtown Can Tho, but heavy rainfall overwhelmed the new system.
Can Tho could brace for more downpours in the next 2–3 days, according to the city’s weather agency.
