According to the plan, following an art performance and a countdown program, a high-altitude fireworks display will begin at 0:00 on February 17, or the first day of the Lunar New Year.
The first fireworks will be launched from a barge on the Hau River, about 400 meters northeast of Hau River Park, in Cai Khe Ward.
Three other fireworks sites will be located at Xa No Park in Vi Tan Ward, the 5A Urban Area in Phu Loi Ward, and Nguyen Hue Street near the lakeside area in Nga Bay Ward.
Fireworks at these three locations will take place at 9:45 pm on February 16.
The fifth fireworks display will be held at the multi-purpose sports hall of the Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center in Vinh Chau Ward, starting at 11:45 pm.
In addition to the fireworks, Can Tho will open an artistic flower street for the 2026 Lunar New Year on Vo Van Tan-Nguyen Thai Hoc Streets in Ninh Kieu Ward.
The flower street will stretch 310 meters and feature three themed sections, namely ‘the Nation in Spring,’ ‘Can Tho Then and Now,’ and ‘Can Tho Rising.’
The flower street will be open to the public from February 14 to 21, corresponding to the 27th day of the final lunar month of the Year of the Snake through the fifth day of the new year.
