A company representative told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper the breach affected only a “specialized service with limited deployment scope,” provided by a small subsidiary to a limited number of clients.

CMC said it activated its cybersecurity response procedures immediately after detecting the attack, isolated the threat, and restored full control of the affected systems within 24 hours.

“Service disruption was minimal and has been fully resolved, with no impact recorded on customer experience,” the representative said.

Core systems and services of the group’s main business units were unaffected and continue to operate safely and stably, according to the company.

Following the incident, CMC said it proactively notified affected clients and partners via email, providing full details of the breach and remediation efforts.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining service security across all its subsidiaries.

“Technical operations are currently stable,” the representative added.

“CMC is working closely with authorities to investigate the incident.

“Once an official conclusion is available, we will provide full information to the media, customers, and partners.”

Several international online forums earlier reported that CMC had been targeted in a ransomware attack, with hacker group Crypto24 allegedly claiming responsibility.

The attackers reportedly encrypted around two terabytes of data.

Founded in 1993, CMC describes itself as Vietnam’s second-largest information and communication technology corporation, with three main business segments: technology & solutions, global business, and telecommunications services.
