Vietnam’s Da Nang forms strategic partnership with tech giants

In a significant move aimed at strengthening its position in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors, the People’s Committee of Da Nang, the capital city of central Vietnam, has issued a dispatch recognizing FPT Corporation and Marvell Technology Vietnam as strategic partners in these hi-tech industries.

The initiative marked a crucial step in the city’s long-term vision to become one of Vietnam’s top three hubs for semiconductor design and AI application development by 2030.

The city aims to attract at least 30 semiconductor design and design service firms, and to bring in one to two enterprises specializing in chip packaging and testing.

FPT Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading technology companies, has been committed to supporting the city with both software and hardware solutions, human resource development, and other initiatives that facilitate the growth of semiconductor and AI industries.

The company plans to maintain its presence in the city for at least five years.

As part of this effort, FPT will establish an office in the Da Nang Software Park.

Similarly, Marvell Technology Vietnam, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based Marvell Technology, Inc., will contribute to the city’s goals through investments in software, hardware, and talent training.

Like FPT, Marvell has pledged a minimum five-year engagement in the city’s tech ecosystem.

These agreements resulted from several dialogues and discussions, as well as collaborations between the municipal administration and major global technology corporations.

Marvell Vietnam, in particular, signed a memorandum of understanding with the city on January 16, becoming the first foreign-invested enterprise to be officially recognized as a strategic partner in this initiative.

Da Nang City hoped that the recognition of Marvell Vietnam would pave the way for more foreign investors to tap the city’s semiconductor and AI sectors.
