Vietnam's Da Nang tops Thai travelers' searches for month-long stays: Agoda

Da Nang City in central Vietnam topped the list of overseas destinations most searched by Thai travelers for accommodations for stays of at least 30 nights, ahead of Indonesia's Bali, Japan's Tokyo and Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur, according to Agoda, a global digital travel platform.

Agoda data show that Da Nang is the top overseas destination searched by Thai travelers for such long stays, amid growing interest in combining remote work with leisure.

The Vietnamese coastal city appeals to long-stay visitors thanks to its relatively affordable living costs, modern amenities and convenient access to both beaches and urban areas, Agoda said.

Thai travelers are increasingly interested in overseas trips lasting 30 nights or more as flexible work arrangements allow them to combine work and vacations, The Nation reported on Sunday, citing Agoda.

Vietnam's southern hub Ho Chi Minh City and South Korea's capital Seoul also ranked among the overseas destinations most searched by Thai travelers for long stays.

Agoda said cities such as Seoul and Ho Chi Minh City attract interest through a combination of affordability, culture and quality of life.

The trend toward long stays is also evident in Thailand, with coastal and island destinations featuring prominently among places sought by international travelers for stays of at least 30 nights.

Pattaya, a city on Thailand's eastern Gulf coast, topped the list in Thailand, followed by the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui, while two other popular tourist spots, Hua Hin and Cha-am, also attracted interest.

Akaporn Rodkong, Agoda's Country Director for Thailand and Indochina, said Thai travelers are increasingly interested in long stays at overseas destinations that meet their lifestyle needs, offer good value for money and have adequate infrastructure.
