Vietnam’s Hue welcomes charter flight from China as tourism grows

Hue City authorities in central Vietnam on Saturday received passengers on a charter flight from Shenzhen, China, as part of efforts to expand international air connections, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

City officials held a reception for passengers of Donghai Airlines flight DZ6355 and presented flowers and gifts after the flight landed at Phu Bai International Airport.

Tran Thi Hoai Tram, director of Hue's Tourism Department, said the cooperation with Donghai Airlines aims to support local tourism and economic development.

Donghai Airlines plans to operate additional flights to and from Phu Bai International Airport, which recently opened Terminal 2, in November and December

Hue received an estimated 5.84 million visitors in the first 11 months of 2025, up 65.3 percent from the same period last year. 

International arrivals increased 40.9 percent, and overnight stays rose 19.1 percent, including a 9.4-percent increase in international visitors.

Tourism revenue is projected at nearly VND11.75 trillion (US$445.67 million), up 62.7 percent from the previous year. 

Chinese tourists accounted for 18,199 visitors, ranking 12th among international markets to Hue.
