Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa, Quang Tri sign deals to boost tourism, cultural, sports ties

Officials said the partnership seeks to attract Russian and South Korean tourists, as well as cruise passengers, by linking Khanh Hoa’s beaches with Quang Tri’s cave systems.

Hoang Xuan Tan, vice-chairman of the Quang Tri administration, emphasized that the collaboration will allow both provinces to leverage their unique strengths and become complementary stops in central Vietnam’s tourism circuit.

Nguyen Long Bien, vice-chairman of the Khanh Hoa administration, added that the priority is to develop concrete products and activities that create tangible benefits for residents, businesses, and tourists.

At the signing ceremony, tourism departments, investment promotion centers, and tourism associations from Khanh Hoa, Quang Tri, and Quang Ngai formalized cooperation agreements.

Both Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri pledged to encourage businesses to design tours connecting their destinations, combining natural resources and cultural products to build distinctive programs for domestic and international markets.

Plans include joint surveys, promotional conferences, and training programs to develop tourism human resources.

In culture, the two provinces will organize art performances, exhibitions, and book fairs during major events.

They also agreed to collaborate in sports, media, and publishing.

The partnership follows the August 16 launch of the Cam Ranh-Dong Hoi air route linking Quang Tri with Khanh Hoa.

The new air service, operated by Sun PhuQuoc Airways under Vietnamese conglomerate Sun Group, is expected to facilitate tourist flows between the two provinces.
