MSR said on Wednesday that its board had approved a plan to seek shareholders' written approval for an advance dividend payment for 2026.

The company will pay a cash dividend of VND1,000 per share, or 10 percent of par value, if shareholders approve the plan.

The total dividend payment is expected to reach around VND1.1 trillion, equivalent to 50 percent of MSR's first-half after-tax profit.

The proposed payment would be the company's first cash dividend.

MSR will announce the record date and payment date later.

The company reported VND2.202 trillion ($84.4 million) in after-tax profit before minority interests for the first six months of 2026, compared with a loss of VND216 billion ($8.3 million) in the same period last year.

The result represented about 88 percent of the upper end of the company's full-year profit target.

MSR continued to reduce its debt in the second quarter.

Its net debt was equivalent to 2.1 times earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) at the end of June.

The company said its year-end debt ratio was expected to remain significantly below its target of 1.7 times EBITDA even after the dividend payment.

MSR also targets a net cash position in 2027.

The company said it could exceed the upper end of its current 2026 profit target if business performance remained favorable.

On Wednesday morning, MSR shares changed hands at around VND38,900 ($1.49) each, down 1.27 percent from the reference price.

Masan High-Tech Materials is a mining company under Masan Group. Established in 2010, it began trading on the UPCoM in September 2015.

The company mines and processes minerals. Its main asset is the Nui Phao polymetallic mine in Thai Nguyen Province, northern Vietnam.

The mine has estimated reserves of around 66 million metric tons.

Its main products include tungsten, fluorspar, bismuth, and copper.
