The A321NX is equipped with new-generation LEAP-1A engines, offering significantly improved performance, including 20-percent fuel savings, 50-percent reduction in CO₂ emissions, and 75-percent less noise compared to previous generations.
The arrival of the first aircraft also marked the official unveiling of the airline’s brand identity.
The airline, founded in June with a registered capital of VND2.5 trillion (US$95.3 million), plans to add seven more aircraft and begin operations within 2025.
On the same day, a credit arrangement agreement was signed between Sun PhuQuoc Airways and lender Vietcombank.
Vietcombank will arrange the credit package for the investment in the airline's fleet, which will include 10 new-generation Airbus A320/321 NEO aircraft.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to begin ticket sales in October 2025 and launch its maiden commercial flight in November 2025.
On June 13, the Ministry of Construction issued an air transport business license to Sun PhuQuoc Airways Co. Ltd., operating under the brand name Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
The airline will operate a high-quality, full-service traditional model, combined with a mixed charter flight model.
Based in Phu Quoc, the airline aims to connect the island with major economic and tourism hubs across Vietnam, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and other key cities.
Previously, the prime minister approved the establishment of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, granting it a 50-year operational license.
