The annual event coincides with the ripening of rice fields along the Ngo Dong River in late May, when the landscape turns a vibrant gold in Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu City, Ninh Binh Province.
Organized to promote Ninh Binh's tourism potential, the festival showcases the region's cultural and natural heritage, including the UNESCO-listed Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.
