Party chief To Lam, his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, and a high-level Vietnamese delegation departed from Nanning in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and arrived at Dong Dang station in Lang Son Province before continuing to Hanoi.
Chinese officials, including Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, and Chen Gang, Party Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, saw off the delegation at the border.

During the visit from Tuesday to Friday, Lam held talks in Beijing with Chinese President Xi Jinping and met Premier Li Qiang and other senior leaders.
Chinese leaders reaffirmed that Vietnam remains a priority in China’s neighborhood diplomacy and pledged to deepen bilateral ties, with both sides emphasizing mutually beneficial cooperation as a key driver of stable and sustainable relations.

The two sides witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements and jointly announced the launch of the Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year for 2026-27.
Lam also visited Hebei Province, including the Xiong’an New Area, delivered a policy speech at Tsinghua University, and met with representatives of individuals who had contributed to bilateral ties.

In Guangxi, he attended the launch of the 2026 Vietnam-China Border People’s Festival and visited regional cooperation and historical sites.
Vietnam and China issued a joint statement on Friday reaffirming their commitment to deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and advancing a shared-future community with strategic significance.
