Bui Quoc Thai, director of the An Giang Department of Tourism, said the province welcomed more than 24 million visitors in 2025, including over 1.9 million international travelers.

Of that total, Phu Quoc accounted for more than 8.1 million visitors, with over 1.8 million coming from overseas.

These figures confirm Phu Quoc’s strong position as a leading island destination combining natural beauty with world-class services that consistently satisfy visitors.

At the start of 2026, Phu Quoc handled around 80 flights per day, with international flights representing more than half.

Visitors mainly come from India, South Korea, Poland, Russia, and China.

This momentum supports the island’s target of welcoming over 2.1 million international tourists in 2026.

Local authorities, the Phu Quoc Special Zone administration, and tourism enterprises are working closely with the APEC 2027 logistics subcommittee to ensure professional and attentive services for international guests.

Tourism products are being diversified, blending natural landscapes with cultural and festive experiences to meet rising expectations.

Major enterprises on both the northern and southern ends of the island are introducing unique, world-class attractions, including ‘million-dollar’ night shows designed to entertain visitors around the clock.

Alongside this, efforts are underway to train high-quality tourism personnel in cooperation with colleges and universities in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.

Thai emphasized that these initiatives will help strengthen Phu Quoc’s global brand as a luxury island destination.

“We aim to combine natural advantages with international-standard design and services, positioning Phu Quoc firmly on the world tourism map,” he said.
