Vietnam’s Phu Quoc welcomes 250 Poles on charter flight

A charter flight operated by Polish Airlines carried about 250 Polish passengers to Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam on Sunday for entertainment and relaxation.

The airline used a Boeing 787-800 to conduct flight LO6189, which arrived at Phu Quoc International Airport on the morning of the day.

The island city is expected to welcome about 30 more flights of Polish Airlines from now until the end of March, according to Bui Quoc Thai, director of the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang.

On November 1, an Uzbekistan Airways charter flight brought around 180 tourists from Uzbekistan to the island.

Each group of tourists is expected to stay on the Vietnamese island seven to nine nights.

The People’s Committee of Phu Quoc has planned to open more flight routes to connect the island with South Korea, China, and Europe in the remainder of the year.

Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam, covering a total area of 574 square kilometers.

From March 2014, Vietnam allowed all foreign tourists to visit Phu Quoc visa-free for a period of up to 30 days.
