The provincial People's Committee said the Pa Thien – Voi Mep trekking route, dubbed 'the rooftop of Quang Tri,' will be opened on a trial basis under coordination between the provincial special-use forest management board and a private tour operator.

The pilot program will require strict compliance with forestry, environmental, and conservation regulations, and operators must ensure tourist safety throughout the experience.

Tran Xuan Cuong, a representative from the tour provider, said the route includes two packages: a two-day-one-night and a three-day-two-night trek.

"Pa Thien and Voi Mep are ideal for trekking, camping, and immersive forest activities," Cuong said, adding that the new product aims to appeal to young travelers, promote local tourism diversity, and create jobs for the Van Kieu ethnic community.

From elevations above 1,600 meters, hikers can hunt for clouds, spot wind farms in the distance, and, on clear days, even catch glimpses of the distant coastline.
