Vinaphone users in major cities including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Long An, and Cao Bang, reported intermittent or complete loss of service.

At approximately 11:00 am, users began noticing degraded network performance.

"My 5G connection suddenly dropped to 3G, and about 30 minutes later, I lost all signal bars," Nguyen Thang, a subscriber in Long An, described his experience.

"I couldn't make calls or access mobile data."

In Cao Bang, Nong Hong Hieu faced similar issues and resorted to purchasing a temporary SIM card from a different provider to maintain communication.

Vinaphone, a subsidiary of the state-owned Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), acknowledged the outage and stated that technical teams were actively working to resolve the issue.

The company did not specify the cause or provide an estimated time for full restoration of services.

Vinaphone is the second-largest mobile network operator in Vietnam, holding a 20.9 percent market share as of 2024, behind military-run Viettel, which leads with 56.39 percent, according to worldwide network quality measurement company Weplan Analytics.

The combined market share of Viettel and Vinaphone, along with MobiFone – a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Public Security, accounts for over 95 percent of the country's mobile subscribers.
