The provincial People’s Committee said on Thursday it had instructed officials in Van Lang Commune to inspect the case and determine responsibility for a potential food safety breach at Hoa Binh Kindergarten.

The incident occurred on March 25, when the school sent pork off-site for processing due to a power outage at its campus.

As some parents visiting the processing facility saw that the pork appeared discolored, they sent its samples for tests, with results later indicating contamination of E.coli and African swine fever.

Authorities have ordered local officials to take corrective action if violations are found and to stabilize the situation among parents.

Education officials were directed to ensure the school complies with regulations on meal provision and food safety while maintaining normal operations.

Health and agriculture authorities are overseeing food sample testing and will act based on the results.
