Party chief To Lam, his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, and a high-level Vietnamese delegation on Tuesday visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China, where they met staff of representative agencies and members of the Vietnamese community.

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh reported that more than 100,000 Vietnamese live in China, including over 23,000 students.

Binh highlighted their unity, patriotism, and efforts to preserve cultural identity while promoting Vietnam abroad.

Community members closely follow developments in their home country.

Many of them expressed pride in Vietnam’s achievements and optimism about the country’s development under the leadership of the Vietnamese Party and state.

They also welcomed the positive progress in Vietnam-China relations.

Speaking with the expatriates, Party chief To Lam described his journey from Beijing International Airport to Xiong’an by high-speed train on Tuesday morning.

The top Vietnamese leader said he was impressed by China’s extensive, modern rail network, which connects major provinces and cities, making travel faster, safer, and more convenient.

He added that such infrastructure boosts productivity and economic growth, and emphasized that Vietnam and China will strengthen cooperation in transport infrastructure, particularly rail development.

The Party leader also updated the community on Vietnam’s recent socio-economic achievements and strategic policies.

He stressed the importance of his China visit, which includes high-level meetings between the two countries’ leaders, Politburos, ministries, and localities to expand comprehensive cooperation.

He praised embassy staff for their dedication and encouraged Vietnamese expatriates to remain united, integrate positively, respect local laws, and contribute to both China’s development and Vietnam’s progress.

He urged them to continue supporting their homeland and fostering bilateral ties as both nations enter new phases of development.
