Nguyen Hoang Hai, chairman of Truong Long Hoa Ward, said seasonal northeast monsoon winds had washed debris, including driftwood and household waste, onto about 6.3km of coastline, prompting local authorities to organize a clean-up.
Hai said heavy machinery and about 30 local volunteers were deployed to collect waste and restore the beach environment.

Following complaints from residents and tourists and reporting by local media, Vinh Long chairman Tran Tri Quang ordered an urgent review of environmental protection and landscape management at the site.
Under the directive, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment is coordinating with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and local authorities to strengthen waste collection and treatment at Ba Dong.
The beach, located in Truong Long Hoa Ward, attracts large numbers of visitors during holidays, and has received significant state investment in recent years to support tourism development, including coastal protection and infrastructure upgrades.
