Visa and ETC-EPAY partner to promote digital payments and modernize public services in Vietnam.
This collaboration aims to provide citizens with an enhanced experience and accelerate the adoption of digital payments, while supporting the digital transformation of public services across Vietnam, Visa said in a press release on Tuesday.
This initiative underscores Visa's commitment to driving digital transformation and financial inclusion in Vietnam by expanding the digital payment ecosystem.
The deployment of Visa Value-Added Services (VAS) will enable ETC-EPAY to offer additional payment services in the financial, transportation, customs, and healthcare sectors, contributing to the growth of Vietnam's digital economy.
"Visa is committed to collaborating with organizations in Vietnam to foster the growth of the digital payments ecosystem and accelerate cashless payment in the public sectors," said Dung Dang, Visa country manager for Vietnam and Laos.
"Our collaboration with ETC-EPAY is a significant step toward realizing our vision of a digitally-enabled Vietnam, where all citizens have easy access to safe, convenient, and efficient payment services."
This collaboration will enable ETC to enhance its ability to provide advanced digital payment solutions to customers, while contributing to the development of Vietnam's digital economy, according to Ha Manh Hung, vice-chairman of the board of directors of ETC Technology Systems Corporation.
Building upon the foundation of the memorandum of understanding for comprehensive cooperation in public services signed by Visa and ETC-EPAY in August 2024, the two parties have been actively collaborating to develop and implement practical solutions for public service providers nationwide.
These solutions include non-stop toll collection, automated payments at hospital kiosks, virtual card issuance with small limits, and streamlined procedures empowering users to proactively pay for utility services.
