Dear valued readers,
Five years ago, on June 18, 2010, a news website run by Ho Chi Minh City-based Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper was made accessible to readers at tuoitrenews.vn.
Five years is only a short time span in the course of development of Tuoi Tre, which will celebrate its 40th birthday in September, but it is long enough for digital content producers like us.
To the uninitiated, Tuoi Tre is a leading Vietnamese language daily in Vietnam and Tuoi Tre News is its English language publication.
We Tuoi Tre News have never ceased working even for a single day over the last five years.
It is because we always bear in mind that it is our duty to bring the most accurate information about Vietnam’s society, economy, and culture to you readers in the fastest way.
It is because we want to present to you the image of a Vietnam that is changing itself to integrate with the world.
And it is also because we want you – our international friends – to contribute to the development of Vietnam by loving our country, establishing friendship with our people, and sharing these sentiments with your international friends.

To our Vietnamese readers, we also appreciate your contribution and support. Your international friends may ask you things about Vietnam and we want to be the source of reference that will enable you to give them a quick and accurate answer. We also want to be a good site where you can learn English by reading and listening to our news stories.
Five, ten, and twenty years are remarkable milestones for any career. We always want to continue doing what we love, and make it even better.
We therefore write this small piece in the hope that you will keep being with us in the years to come. Please tell us what you expect from our website after reading it for a while. Please do not hesitate to send us even the worst complaints. We believe those who point out our mistakes are the readers who love us.
We hope our next phase of development will still have you as companions, so that we will have chances to bring you the latest and most credible information about Vietnam.
We long for your suggestions, recommendations, feedback, and comments (as well as birthday wishes). Please send them all to ttn@tuoitre.com.vn.
Thank you, all readers!
