On February 6, a 33-year-old N.T.N.L., from south-central Khanh Hoa Province, was charged with the online dissemination of pornographic content, according to Lam Dong police.
Police said the woman was found to have recorded and live-streamed multiple pornographic videos from a hotel in Da Lat, a tourist destination in Lam Dong, charging viewers fees to generate income on online platforms.
Authorities said the live streams were intended to attract paying viewers.
Lam Dong’s cybercrime unit coordinated with police in Khanh Hoa to question the suspect.
The woman admitted to producing and distributing pornographic videos online.
She was charged with spreading obscene materials under Vietnamese law.
The production, storage, distribution or sharing of obscene content in any form is illegal and can result in administrative penalties or criminal prosecution in Vietnam.
Police also warned that viewing, sharing, commenting on or rebroadcasting pornographic content online can constitute facilitating illegal activity.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of social media, prevent their access to harmful websites, and strengthen legal awareness education.
