A short video released by the company hints strongly at the arrival of the Yamaha PG-1, a model recently updated and introduced to the Thai market.

The teaser quickly drew the interest from members of the public, with most agreeing that the highly anticipated model is indeed the new Yamaha PG-1.

While Yamaha Vietnam has yet to confirm specific details, enthusiasts can refer to the Thai-market version for insights into what might be on offer.

One of the most notable improvements in the latest PG-1 is its braking system.

The new version is equipped with a 245-mm diameter front disc brake, larger than its predecessor, paired with an anti-lock braking system.

This is a rare feature in the sub-115cc segment and adds a significant layer of safety, especially during emergency braking or on slippery surfaces.

Yamaha has also introduced a front wheel speed sensor and a longer brake cable, both aimed at improving control and responsiveness across various riding conditions.

The instrument cluster has been redesigned with a compact, modern circular layout.

The digital LCD display provides essential information, including gear position, revolutions per minute, fuel consumption, and trip distance.

The PG-1 continues to ride on 16-inch spoked wheels wrapped in IRC 90/100-16 tires on both ends.

The updated tire tread is wider, enhancing grip for light off-road use while also reducing road noise in urban environments.

The suspension system boasts a longer travel telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, offering a smoother ride across varying terrains.

The 190 mm ground clearance makes the bike suitable for both city streets and rougher roads.

Another standout feature is the raised handlebar, now widened to 805 mm for better control and reduced vibrations.

The two-piece seat sits at a height of 795 mm, making it accessible and comfortable for most Vietnamese riders.

The PG-1 retains its 115cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine.

While unchanged in displacement, the engine has been fine-tuned to deliver stronger low-end torque, ideal for climbing hills or carrying heavy loads.
