Young Vietnamese woman claims assault by 2 S.Korean women at Hanoi photobooth

A post about the incident went viral on social media the same day, including a video recorded at the scene.

The young Vietnamese woman shared that on the evening of July 11, she and her friend went to take pictures at a photobooth in Me Tri, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi. 

Vietnam eliminated the district-level administrative unit nationwide starting July 1 and restructured local administrations into a two-tiered system, including provinces/cities and wards/communes. 

As a result, Nam Tu Liem District was scrapped and its 10 wards were reorganized into four wards, including Tu Liem, Tay Mo, Dai Mo, and Xuan Phuong.

The young Vietnamese woman added that they had booked and paid for their session within the allowed time.

While they were still taking photos, two South Korean women suddenly started yelling at them from outside, telling them to hurry up even though they were still within their reserved time slot, she recalled.

Eventually, her friend turned around and said, 'Ủa' [a Vietnamese expression of surprise], after the two South Korean women had rushed them repeatedly. 

Then, one of the women suddenly hit her friend, grabbed her hair, and continued to punch and kick her multiple times.

“When I tried to step in and stop the fight, they threatened to throw me out so they could continue attacking my friend. Everyone at the shop witnessed the incident," the Vietnamese woman recounted.

“I also asked the shop’s staff to call police and help us, but they did not provide much support.

"The shop’s security cameras clearly captured everything. 

"At the moment, we do not know the identities of the two South Korean women, so we are asking the online community for help.”

She added that right now, her friend is still suffering from headaches, nausea, and severe psychological distress. 

She has been unable to eat and is only able to drink milk.
