The relocation is expected to be completed by December.
The Khanh Hoi Ward People's Committee recently held a meeting to implement a plan for the emergency relocation of residents from blocks A, B, and C of the Vinh Hoi apartment complex.
Built before 1975, the apartment complex was classified as Grade D, the highest danger level, following a structural safety assessment in January 2017.
The assessment found that its structural load-bearing capacity was insufficient to meet normal usage requirements and that the buildings were in an overall dangerous condition.
Following the assessment, 103 households had relocated from the complex under the relocation plan.
However, as of October 2026, 141 households had yet to agree to move out.
To protect residents' lives and property, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has allocated public housing for temporary accommodation for households required to evacuate.
The temporary housing is intended to provide residents with safe accommodation and help them gradually stabilize their lives while the apartment complex awaits reconstruction.
As per the approved plan, households that receive temporary accommodation decisions must contact the Housing Management and Construction Inspection Center under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction to view apartments, complete paperwork, sign contracts, and receive their new homes.
In the coming period, the Khanh Hoi Ward administration will coordinate with relevant agencies and residents to organize a meeting to select a qualified investor to rebuild the Vinh Hoi apartment complex, with the aim of improving residents' living conditions and ensuring their long-term safety.
