The provincial Department of Public Security said on Wednesday that a joint inspection team comprising police officers and officials from the provincial Department of Home Affairs recently inspected a shop on Le Hong Phong Street in Nam Nha Trang Ward.

The inspection focused on immigration status, residency compliance, and business activities involving foreign nationals at the establishment.

During the inspection, authorities found 20 foreign nationals working across different departments of the shop.

A rapid check of the Khanh Hoa police database showed that all 20 exhibited signs of working without permits and operating beyond the purposes specified in their visas and temporary residence permits.

The Immigration Management Division under the Khanh Hoa Department of Public Security requested the establishment’s legal representative to temporarily suspend the employment of the individuals involved pending further verification and legal procedures in accordance with Vietnamese law.

The division noted that the number of foreigners arriving in Khanh Hoa for tourism, work, and family visits typically increases during holidays, the Lunar New Year (Tet), and peak tourism seasons.

Accordingly, authorities have stepped up oversight of residency management and coordinated with local police to inspect and guide accommodation providers in ensuring strict compliance with regulations on temporary residence registration for foreigners.

The division also coordinates with relevant agencies, including the provincial Center for Social Sponsoring and Social Affairs, to promptly handle cases involving homeless or wandering foreigners, ensuring both humanitarian support and legal compliance.
