8 New Zealand universities offer scholarships of up to $28,500 to Vietnamese students for 2027

Some of these universities offer scholarships that are automatically assessed, with no limit on the number of awards, to eligible Vietnamese students who receive an offer of admission.

The scholarships cover undergraduate, master’s and doctoral studies, with award values and eligibility requirements varying by university and program.

Vietnamese high school students can apply to universities using their first- or second-semester Grade 12 results, depending on each institution’s requirements, while students taking the International Baccalaureate or A-level programs may use predicted grades.

Applicants must still complete high school and meet the universities’ formal entry requirements, with graduation certificates, diplomas and official transcripts allowed to be submitted later.

ENZ said applying early gives students more time to complete admission procedures and seek scholarships ahead of the July intake in New Zealand.

“We hope to provide students with more opportunities to engage with recruitment representatives and interact directly with lecturers,” said Ben Burrowes, ENZ’s regional director for North Asia and Southeast Asia.

He noted that eligibility requirements, application deadlines and scholarship values may vary by program and intake.
