At around 3:30 pm on Tuesday, a patrol team from Lung Nam Commune Police discovered a foreigner walking near Nam San hamlet, close to the Vietnam-China border.
The man identified himself as L.G.S, born in 1997 and holding U.S. citizenship.
When asked to present documents, he failed to provide the required permit issued by a Vietnamese authority for entry into border zones.
He was escorted to the commune police station for questioning.
At the station, the tourist admitted his violation.
Police issued an administrative violation record and transferred the case file to the provincial police department’s Immigration Office for further handling.
