The incident occurred in Lai Han Hamlet, Xuan Duong Commune, where the man encountered trouble while riding a motorbike through steep and slippery mountainous terrain, the provincial police department announced on its official website.

He lost control of the vehicle and fell into a deep ravine, becoming trapped in a dense bamboo forest.

The accident left the tourist with a leg injury and in a state of panic, stranded in an isolated area with no immediate access to help.

After receiving a report and instructions from provincial police leadership, officers from the Xuan Duong Commune police agency quickly coordinated with local residents to launch a search and rescue operation.

Police officers and villagers successfully retrieved the motorbike from the ravine and moved it to a safer location.

The tourist received first aid for leg injuries, food, and water at a local home.

Using a translation app, local police communicated with the tourist to check his condition, verify his identification, and guide him through necessary procedures.

The tourist expressed deep gratitude for the timely assistance, saying he was moved by the kindness of both police and villagers.

The rescue has been praised as an example of Vietnam’s hospitality and community spirit, leaving a positive impression on international visitors.

Local media identified the tourist as Flo Florian, an Austrian national.

Dan Tri newspaper cited commune police as reporting that the tourist had entered Vietnam via Noi Bai International Airport and rented a motorbike in Hanoi for a solo trip.

According to Znews, Florian followed directions from Google Maps into a remote forest area in Lai Han at around 3:00 pm on Tuesday.

While navigating steep terrain, his motorbike slipped and plunged down a slope. Lacking off-road riding experience, he was unable to retrieve the vehicle.

After struggling for hours, he abandoned the motorbike around 5:00 pm and attempted to find a way out on foot.

However, he became further disoriented and spent the night alone in the forest.

The next morning, exhausted and sustaining minor injuries, he continued searching for an exit and eventually found a local resident’s home at dawn on Wednesday.
