BigBang thrills 45,000 fans in spectacular Hanoi concert, with another night to go

The Saturday show marked the opening night of BigBang's two-day Hanoi stop on their BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR <XX: COSMOS>, the group's first world tour in nine years.

Despite performing without their full line-up, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung kept the crowd cheering throughout the nearly-three-hour concert, which opened with the iconic hit Fantastic Baby.

Throughout the night, the three members repeatedly praised the passion and enthusiasm of the Vietnamese fans, even attempting to speak Vietnamese with greetings such as 'Hà Nội ơi!' (Hello, Hanoi!) and 'Tôi yêu các bạn!' (I love you!).

"Vietnamese fans are the best in the world. This is definitely the best concert of my life," Daesung told the crowd.

He also described performing in Hanoi as feeling like coming home, while Taeyang playfully referred to the city as 'big noise' in tribute to the thunderous cheers.

The members were so impressed by the atmosphere that they joked about wanting to stay and perform in Hanoi until the following week rather than head to their next tour stop in Sydney.

At the end of the show, BigBang reflected on their 20-year career, thanking fans for making it possible for them to continue performing after two decades.

The members described reaching their 20th anniversary as a 'miracle' and promised to keep bringing happiness to their supporters.

Daesung said the fans were the reason BigBang could still stand onstage, adding that without their support, the members might have disappeared from the spotlight long ago.

In one of the night's most emotional moments, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung knelt onstage to express their gratitude before forming a giant heart for the cheering crowd.

Hanoi awaits another electrifying night

BigBang will return to My Dinh National Stadium on Sunday evening for its second and final Hanoi concert before continuing the world tour in Sydney.

Saturday's show featured a string of the group's biggest hits, including Lies, Haru Haru, Fantastic Baby, and Bang Bang Bang, with fans singing and cheering along throughout the night.

The concert also featured solo performances by all three members, showcasing their distinctive musical styles.

G-Dragon brought the crowd to a frenzy when he recreated his iconic guitar-smashing moment from earlier performances of Tonight, while Taeyang energized the stadium with his R&B and dance performances and Daesung charmed fans with his powerful vocals and playful interactions.

The evening took an emotional turn during the encore, with Flower Road and Still Life evoking memories of BigBang's years of separation, challenges, and eventual return to the stage.

Some long-time fans were moved to tears as they sang along to the songs that had accompanied them through different stages of their lives.

After an opening night filled with music, nostalgia, and emotional exchanges between the artists and their fans, anticipation is building for the group's second Hanoi performance.
