-- A man from Quang Tri Province in north-central Vietnam who has bought Vietlott lottery tickets for 10 years won a Jackpot worth nearly VND71.8 billion (US$2.8 million), his 1,103rd Vietlott prize.

-- A foreign passenger has sued Asiana Airlines in the U.S., claiming the airline was responsible for her being denied entry to Vietnam for lacking a visa and seeking $100 million in compensation, Seoul Economic Daily reported.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board on Friday afternoon signed a contract with Japan’s Yasuda Engineering Co. for a package to rehabilitate old central-city sewers using a trenchless method.

Economy

-- The Khanh Hoa Economic Zone and Industrial Parks Management Board said on Friday that it had approved a project to build a high-end fabric manufacturing plant at Du Long Industrial Park, with a total investment of approximately $23.45 million.

-- Vietnam’s military-run telecommunications group Viettel announced on Friday that it had won a tender to provide telecommunications services in the Dominican Republic, marking its 11th international market.

-- Vietnam coach Kim Sang Sik said at a press conference on Friday that he believed his team would put in a strong performance in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final against Thailand at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium on Saturday, adding that although the match would be difficult, Vietnam had previously lifted the trophy at the same venue, which gave the team confidence.
