-- Jordan’s House Speaker Mazen Turki El Qadi is due to arrive in Vietnam on Monday for a four-day official visit at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

-- Weather conditions in north Vietnam turn cooler on Monday, while rainfall eases in the central region and the south remains sunny and hot in typical dry-season conditions, according to the national weather agency.

-- Saltwater intrusion in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta is forecast to extend 40-60 km inland during early and mid February, depending on river mouths, authorities said.

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security said on Sunday it had dismantled an online drug trafficking ring disguised as sales of e-cigarettes and cannabidiol products, arresting 17 suspects and seizing narcotics during coordinated raids across multiple provinces.

-- Vietnam was an outlier in Southeast Asia as investment demand for gold fell 15 percent year on year to seven tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2025, the sixth consecutive quarterly decline and the weakest fourth-quarter level since 2021, due partly to supply constraints, the World Gold Council said in its latest report.
